Bakers Post app for iPhone and iPad

The Bakers Post App supports you in your bread making technique. Design a starter, a leaven and the final dough. Change the weight or the ratio of an ingredient and the Bakers Post app will do the calculation. Chooser a bread category and the app will create a template from where you can build up your bread composition.

The goal of the app is to learn and improve your bread making technique. At first on an individual basis and soon collaboratively.

Select the post category at the top of the posts page and start composing your bread. This is either a bread itself, a starter or a leaven as the building blocks of your sourdough bread, a preferment to be included in your yeasted bread or an optional soaker that goes into your yeasted bread or your sourdough bread.

To build a sourdough bread go to the posts page, select the breads post category and click on the compose button. Select the sourdough bread category and choose between a stiff, a standard or a rustic leaven. Either you let the app create a template for your leaven or you choose one of your pre-defined leavens.

You build a pre-defined leaven in the same way - by letting the app create a starter template for you or by selecting one of your pre-defined starters. Please consider that the hydration option has to match between the hydration of your starter and the hydration of your leaven and between the hydration of your leaven and the hydration of your sourdough bread.

To build a yeasted bread you can choose between the preferment Pate fermentée Poolish or Biga. Either you let the app create a template for the preferment or you choose one of your pre-defined preferment.

The weight DP and ratio DP attributes define the decimal places shown in the post detail view. The weight attribute defines the final dough weight as the basis for all calculations done by the app. You can always change the value in the post detail view according your demands.

On the post detail page, you edit the title of the post or a component by tapping onto it. To change the default values of the post as the unit or the final dough weight, tap onto its title and enter the new value. To add an ingredient wipe down the title of a component and tap onto it to change the default values, wipe the name of an ingredient to the right to delete the ingredient or wipe down an ingredient to change the order. Wipe the title of a post or a component to the right to delete the post or component.
